Access

We arrive at Lake Achen (Achensee) and park near Kinderhotel in Buchau, at a paid parking lot. Using public transport, we can take trains and buses to get here.

Approach to start

We follow the marked hiking trail up to Dalfazer waterfall. In front of the waterfall there is a large viewpoint area from where a path leads to the base of the rock wall and the start of the via ferrata cable.

The route

The more demanding sections in the middle are long and require some stamina. Reports from 2024 talk about the rock being polished in places, thus requiring good climbing technique.

Descent

Continue on a footpath to trail no 413, descend on this trail back to the viewpoint platform and retrace your steps back to the starting point.

Good to know

After finishing the ferrata, you can hike to the Dalfaz Alm in about 45 minutes.

You can climb this route as part of a mixed group of climbers and hikers. The group splits in two at the waterfall viewpoint and the climber team tackle the steel cables, while the hikers continue on trail 413. After the via ferrata, the two paths rejoin and both groups can continue their day in the nature together.
