The Loser Panorama Klettersteig Sisi is located in the Totes Gebirge mountain range in the Steiermark region of Austria. The closest parking area is at 47.6551,13.7726. Please note that the road to the parking area is a toll road, and prices can be found at https://www.loser.at/.
Approach to start
From the parking area, hike up the Panoramastrasse road for a short distance. 200 meters after the hairpin bend, ascend left to the avalanche protection dams. Follow the small ridge on the left of the dams to the rocky base of the climb.
The route
The climb begins by ascending a corner (C) and a pillar (D and C/D). The difficulty level gradually decreases (B, A/B) until it reaches grassy terrain (A). The route then passes a small pillar (D and C/D) and a section with brackets (C). After the brackets, there is a slightly exposed ramp (D) leading to a traverse (A) and an extremely exposed, slightly overhanging ramp (C/D, then C). The climb continues through rocky grass terrain (max. B) to a pillar (B/C). At the top of the pillar, there is a resting spot with a climbing book. The route then passes around a corner (A) and under overhangs (A) to an exposed traverse (C). The most challenging section of the climb is the overhanging part (difficult D!) of the summit pillar. The route then continues to an exit ridge (C/D) and through grassy terrain (A) to the exit near the summit.
Descent
The descent is via the normal hiking trail (route 255) to the Loserhütte. From there, follow the path towards Blaa-Alm for a short distance before returning to the approach trail.
Good to know
The route is usually closed from November 16 to May 14.
If you are struggling in the first 20m, you should consider returning because it gets harder from there on.
Starting with 2016, it is possible to combine this climb with the route Loser Panorama Klettersteig Sophie, which starts close to Loser Alm mountain restaurant.
